Zennie Mendoza died in her home, Thursday evening, February 16 2023.
Born Zenaida Doria in Nagcarlan, Laguna Philippines, the youngest of eleven children to Santos Montanano Dona and Socoro Plantilla Cuento.
She was educated as a pharmacist at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. She retired as a medical technologist and was a founding member of the Hiyas-Min Philippine Cultural Society of Charleston. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Cathoilc Church in Goose Creek. She was a devout Catholic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Francisco "Frank" Mendoza.
She is survived by children Michael Mendoza and Tisa (Roger) Little, grandchildren Oscar and Thomas Little, all of Goose Creek and many nieces and nephews around the world and a grateful Filipino community for whom she served as an example, linchpin and inspiration.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at the McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation Chapel located at 869 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
There will be a service held Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 10am to 11am which is located at 510 St James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Gardens which is located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, N Charleston, SC 29406.
