Winnie Mae Mullins, age 97, of Moncks Corner, peacefully passed away, Monday, January 12, 2015. She was born October 31, 1917, in Waynesburg, KY to the late Boyd and Stella Moore. Winnie moved to Moncks Corner in 1974 with her family and became a devoted member of St. Johns Bethel Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed taking care of her beautiful family, the company of her friends, gardening, sewing, quilting, cooking (and the family enjoyed this too!) and all kinds of music. She loved life and everything that came with it…nothing slowed her down. She truly appreciated what the world brought to her each day. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Thompson and her husband Mikel of Moncks Corner; one son, Benny Mullins of California; her cherished grandchildren, Michael Sullivan, Christopher Sullivan, Terry Mullins, Benny Mullins, Jr., and Regina Sullivan; her great grandchildren, Kevin Sullivan, Stephanie Sullivan, Stacy Sullivan, and Malcolm Payne; great great grandchildren, Summer, Cayden, Nolan, and two more on the way; two brothers, John and Rob Moore of Waynesburg, KY; and one sister, Peggy Wilson of Dayton, Ohio. Winnie was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Thomas Grant Mullins; and nine brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Goose Creek Chapel. The burial will immediately follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens in Moncks Corner.
