William "Billy" Edward King, 69, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband to Karen Pardee King of 40 years, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Born on September 4, 1951 in Charleston, South Carolina, Billy was a son of the late John Edwin King Jr and Eleanor Joyce Connor.
Billy was the best dad to four amazing daughters. He kept his sanity by joining the Knights of Pythias Lodge. He was the Past Chancellor of Stonewall Jasper Lodge #6. He spent Sunday afternoons watching Nascar. Billy enjoyed listening to Lionel Richie and "Dancin' on the Ceiling" "All Night Long". Billy was known for his cooking, especially his "slap ya mama" collards. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his dedication to his family and friends.
Besides his parents, Billy is preceded in death by son-in-law, Shawn Cochran.
He will be missed by his wife, Karen King; daughters, Lisa Cochran, Renee Villaume (Jason), Stacy Karpinen (Shane) and Danielle Anthony (Allan); grandchildren: Gracie Villaume, Ryan Habermann, Tanner Karpinen, Kennedy Cochran, Campbell Cochran and Brantley Anthony; brother, Ray King (Ceryl), and step-father, Joseph "Papa Joe" Connor, all of Charleston, SC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 19, 2021, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, SC.
