William "Larry" Donald, 78, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
Larry was born on January 19, 1944, to the late John Joseph Donald and Pearl Johnston Donald. After graduating from Bishop England High School, he enlisted in the Air Force. He served for nine years, stationed in Vietnam and Berlin, Germany. Larry retired after 32 years from the Federal Aviation Administration, where he worked as an Air Traffic Controller Supervisor.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Biernesser Donald; two daughters, Laura Ralston and Leah (Greg) Marett; grandsons Zack, Garrett, Nick and Xan; and granddaughter Zara and her mother Scarlett Kurban. He is preceded in death by our son John L. Donald.
Larry's Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464, with the Memorial Service immediately following at 12:00 PM, at the same location.
