Blease Lattimore, Jr., 82, died Monday, November 25, 2024. Born February 24, 1942, in St. Matthews at his grandmother's home. He was a son of the late William Blease Lattimore, Sr. and Ruth Spigner Lattimore. He was a baptized member of Welcome Baptist Church in Pendleton. He worked in road construction his entire life and retired from the SCDOT.
He is survived by his daughter, Sebrena L. (Anthony) Matthews of Prosperity; brother, Shelton (Celia) Lattimore; niece, Jayden Lattimore, all of Cope; cousin, Allen (Karen) Sikes of Eastover; granddaughters, Meagan Walker of Winnsboro and Mallory (Teal) O’Dell; great-grandchildren Bear and Abbi O’Dell, all of Prosperity; grand-dog, Stella; Adopted family; Edward (Kathy) Epting, Jacob (Kim) and Ingram Epting; Susan Epting (Eli) and Lizzie DiLiberto. He was predeceased by cousins, Ronnie and David Sikes.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 3 pm Sunday, December 1, 2024, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, (formerly family-owned Thompson Funeral Home) 200 State St., West Columbia, conducted by Rev. Dr. J. Eric Skidmore. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm. Please dress casual.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Little Mountain Rescue Squad, 219 N. Boundary St., Little Mountain, SC 29075.
The family would like to thank the following for their care through the years: Dr. Christopher Ballou, Dr. Wayde Dominick DDS, Dr. John Wells and John Pugh RPh.
Special thanks also to, Shannon, Alanah and Miranda with Amedisys Home Health Care; family friends Tammy Metts and Jessica Mills.
The family is also grateful to Prisma Richland ER and MICU Staff especially Dr. Ana Claudia Benevides Tadinac and Dr. Jaimie Seawell for the care and compassion shown during the last days of Mr. Lattimore’s earthly life.
The Newberry County EMS, Prisma Richland ER Staff and the MICU went above and beyond to take care of him. The 8th Ortho Floor Staff was wonderful for his last night and morning of care.
