William James White, Jr., 83, of Goose Creek, SC husband to Pamela Lee Craig-White (Craig) of 39 years, entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2022.
Born on July 22, 1938 in Hartford, CT, William was a son of the late William James White, Sr. and Velma Coty White.
Bill was an Air Force Veteran, NRA Instructor and Scout Leader. He loved going to car shows and showing his 1984 El Camino.
To paraphrase his son, "William James White was a straight edged counter culturist with a heart of Gold and a complete storyteller of the same metallurgy. A legend to some, an icon to others, a father to many. He was tough as nails, hard as bricks, 5'11" but stood 10' 6". A veteran, lesson teacher, a father, a husband, a son-in-law, and never turned down a steak dinner, medium rare like his personality. A hard man, but a fair man. A devil and an Angel of sorts. A humanitarian through many scouting, car culture, racing and life lessons."
William is survived by his wife, Pamela Lee Craig-White; a son Tyler and three sisters, Joan Cohan, Bolton, CT; Barbara Voss, Jacksonville, FL and Patricia Selinger, Charlotte, NC. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Military Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), in care of Robert Jensen, Commander, Swamp Fox Unit 17, 213 Hartin Blvd., Summerville, SC 29486.
