William Earl 'Billy' Myers Jr.

William “Billy” Earl Myers Jr., 62, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was born on August 21, 1953, in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Ethel Flood Myers and the late William E. Myers, Sr. Billy was a 1974 graduate of Middleton High School. He was a member of the St. Andrews Lodge No. 367 AFM. Billy was a former Charleston Naval Shipyard Shop 17, Welder. He was a commercial truck Owner-Operator for 20 years. He was currently employed by MCO Transportation. Billy loved fishing, riding his Harley, and spending time with his Jack Russells. Billy’s wry sense of humor will be missed by everyone. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joyce Hallex Myers, of Charleston, SC; one son, Chris Myers of Charleston, SC; sisters, Jean Ann Craven and Dottie Clark; sisters-in-law, Virginia Moore, Dobie Hallex, Linda Hallex; brothers-in-law, Tom Hallex, Charles Hallex, and Woody Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel, with Rev. Marty Hogue officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Charleston Animal Society, or the charity of one’s choice.
