William Clayton "Trout" Brooks, 64 of Ravenel, SC, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Born on September 16, 1958, in Stockton, CA, he was a son of the late Marlene Bacon Brooks and Albert Edwin Brooks, Jr.
Bill was honorably discharged from the Navy, having served on the USS Orion and USS Hunley submarine tenders before settling in Charleston. Trout was a master wood worker, a NASCAR enthusiast (specifically a Kyle Busch devotee), and a passionate fan of outboard boat racing. While in Charleston, he worked as a carpenter focusing on construction, framing, and remodeling, as a home inspector for American Inspection Services, and most recently as a ship fitter at Metal Trades, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Roberts Brooks; his son Clay (Mea) Brooks; his two granddaughters DeSales Brooks and Parker Brooks; his sister Corene Brooks; and his brother Edwin (Tina) Brooks. He was a beloved uncle to nine nieces and nephews, and was a friend to everyone he met.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 15th from 11:00am – 2:00pm at Rusty Bull Brewing Co. in North Charleston.
