Willard A Stonaker,Sr, 94 of Ladson, SC died October 30, 2021, at Agape-Lowcountry Community Hospice House, Summerville, SC.
Willard was born December 9, 1926, to the late Horace G Stonaker and Verna (Hart) Stonaker, in Hightstown, NJ. He is also pre-deceased by his wife of 62 years, Dolores V Stonaker and a son, Willard A Stonaker, Jr.
Willard was a graduate of Allentown High School. He was a Naval Seabee in World War II. He had various careers in his long life including owning a gas station and garage, machinist at a fertilizer company, a quality control specialist at AVCO and eventually retired after many years with Robert Bosch. He was a quiet, kindhearted man. He treated everyone as a friend and would help those in need. He attended Revive Charleston Church and was loved by all who attended. Will was an avid Carolina fan and loved golf. For many years, he could be found at Shadowmoss Golf Club enjoying the camaraderie of other golfers and sharing countless stories of the game. He was also a member of the Daytona Beach Traveling Golf League and really enjoyed walking the Jetties of Ponce Inlet. On occasion, he could also be found at the Superdome enjoying the New Orleans Saints play football.
He will be missed by his family and friends including three sons, John J Stonaker and wife Pam of Daytona Beach, FL, Wayne P Stonaker and wife Kathy of Charleston, SC, Edward K Stonaker and wife Lori of Charleston, SC and a daughter, Donna Stonaker Price of Ladson, SC who provided his care. He is also survived by 14 grand-children and 16 great-grand-children and his two sisters, Connie Lee of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Carol Fisher (husband Jack) of New Jersey. He is also predeceased by his brothers Horace Stonaker (wife Dot) and Lewis Stonaker (wife Terry).
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island, SC on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 1pm.
