Wanda Lee Willis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wanda Willis, 73, of Goose Creek, SC. Wanda passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025, with her family by her side.

Born on May 25, 1951, to Robert and Marie Smale, Wanda graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 1969. She went on to earn a degree and enjoyed a successful 30-year career as a cytologist.

While Wanda was proud of her professional accomplishments, her greatest joy came from being a loving Mother, Nana and sister. She cherished every moment spent with her family, both near and far, and took great delight in the many pets she had over the years.

Wanda was a devoted member of St. James United Methodist Church for many years. Her faith was central to her life, and she found comfort in reading her Bible. Known for her generosity and kindness, Wanda always gave with an open heart. She found peace knowing she would soon be with the Lord, reunited with her parents and sister, Betsy, in heaven. She also looked forward to being free from the health challenges she had endured in recent years.

Wanda is survived by her son, Timothy Willis (Jenn) and her daughter, Dena Wright (Chase), as well as her cherished grandchildren: Madison Warnick, Jack Willis, Kaela Willis, and Analynn Wright. She is also survived by her sisters, Penny Finkbeiner and Joan Weber; her brother, Mark Smale (Sally) and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek, SC, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. A reception for family and friends will follow at St. James United Methodist Church, 512 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
