Walter Frank Ernest Spiller, Jr. 75, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, a Navy SKC veteran and widower to Carol Spiller, passed away October 4, 2018.
Born December 4, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to Walter and Margaret (Turner) Spiller, Walter served for over 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired from government contracting (Spawar). In retirement Walter dedicated his time to Masonic youth organizations, serving as an active member of the International Supreme Council Order of DeMolay, and as chairman of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Goose Creek Chapter.
Walter is survived by his sons, Walter F. Spiller III (Jenny) and Dwayne Allen Spiller (Vicky); grandchildren, Paige Spiller and Katie Oglesby; and two brothers, Gary Stokes and David Spiller. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert and wife, Carol Spiller.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek. A Masonic memorial service will take place at 6:30 PM.
The funeral service will be held in the same location on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 AM. Entombment with military honors will take place immediately following the service at Plantation Memorial Gardens.
