Virginia Vernell Nettles Garvin, 90, of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019.
She was born on June 14, 1928 in Walterboro, South Carolina, daughter of Daisy Lemacks and Joseph Nettles. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Lemacks Nettles and Joseph Nettles and her son, Ronald "Dute" Garvin, and two sisters, Elise Cumbee(Edward) and Marie Cumbee (James).
She is survived by her son, Louie Garvin, Jr. (Sandra Young); Carolyn Speights (Ray); six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Baptist of Johns Island. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on April 30, 2019 at First Baptist of Johns Island, 3483 Maybank Hwy, Charleston, SC 29455. The burial will follow the service at the First Baptist of Johns Island Cemetery.
