Virginia Lee Reeder

Virginia Lee Reeder, CPA  passed away peacefully August 6th 2023 in Charleston, SC. She was 76 years old.

Ms. Reeder was born July 13, 1947, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Oscar Samual Reeder. She graduated from Charleston High School in 1966 and the College of Charleston in 1995 with an accounting degree. After graduation, she became a Certified Public Accountant and worked for several firms in Charleston.

Virginia married her high school sweetheart, Thomas C. Moorer Sr. in 1967 and they resided in Charleston. In 1989, Virginia married David Brunovsky and moved to Ouray, CO where they owned and operated a campground in the wilderness of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. In 2002, she retired and moved back to Charleston to spend time with her family and friends. 

Virginia was passionate about gardening, cooking, all kinds of card games but especially Bridge, traveling, hiking, canoeing, and snorkeling. She was a member of the Sierra Club for many years and loved exploring the outdoors. In recent years, her beloved dachshund Wilhelm “Willie” Reeder was never far from her side. 

Virginia is survived by her daughter Natalie Moorer Young and husband Fraser of James Island; son Thomas C. Moorer, Jr. and wife Dana Cone Moorer of Mount Pleasant; and grandson, Daniel S. Moorer and wife Parker Kelly of Charleston. She also is survived by her sister Jane Dorothy Reeder of Mount Pleasant and brother Dr. Jack Reeder and sister-in-law Susie Reeder of Sarasota, FL plus many beloved cousins, family members, and friends who adored her.

Funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to a charity close to one's heart.
