Virgilio Calimosa Ayen, 71, of Goose Creek, passed away January 29, 2014. Born in Sigay Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was the son of the late Pedro and Severina Ayen and husband to Delia Angelo Ayen. He retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after serving for twenty two years. Mr. Ayen and his wife owned and operated the Donut Connection in Goose Creek and were members of Goose Creek United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife Delia Ayen; three children, Hilbrus “Bruce†Ayen and wife Kathy of Cayce, SC, Hendrix “Drake†Ayen and wife Beth of Fishers, IN and Hibrand “Randi†Tucker of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren, Chad Tucker, Jordan Tucker, Drew Tucker, Eryn Tucker, Joshua Ayen, Emma Ayen, Madelynn Ayen and Spencer Ayen; four sisters, Chellie Murrell of California, Gregoria Visaya of Texas, Lolie Bangalit of Philippines and Filomina Aluad of Philippines. Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Goose Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Debra Dowdle officiating. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL.
