Vernon Edward House, 84, of Goose Creek passed away 03 November 2021.
He was born April 26, 1937 in Buffalo, MO to the late Claude House and Lona House Heuron.
He entered the United States Navy in 1954 and retired after more than 22 years of distinguished service on numerous vessels and installations. Retiring as a Chief Petty Officer (E7), Vernon continued to serve the Navy as a government supervisor on the Polaris Missile Facility Atlantic, Naval Weapons Station, Charleston for 16 years. Vernon was an accomplished Sailor, but he was most well-known as a youth football coach, referee for multiple youth sports and as an avid outdoorsman. Vernon was happiest fishing the Santee Cooper Lakes and deer hunting across the Low Country of South Carolina.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Francisca (Paqui) House, of Seville, Spain and sons Luis House (Deidre) of Bonneau, SC, Ed House (Melissa) of Midland, GA, and Juan House (Kylie) of Summerville, SC. Vernon also has six loving grandsons- Andrew, Matthew, Todd, Nicholas, Brandon and Hunter and four great grandchildren- Rhys, Ryverlynn, Forrest and Evan.
A private memorial service will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery.
