Valeria Turbeville Branham, 100, widow of S. Lewis Branham, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at NHC Healthcare, Parklane in Columbia.

Born on September 2, 1922, in Turbeville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Marion Turbeville and Annie Turbeville (Coker).

Valeria was affectionately known as “Granny” by her family and friends and was greatly loved by all who knew her. She lived life her way. She was most recently a member of the Harvest church. Valeria attended Rosewood Baptist Church for many years, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and served as the church hostess. She loved to travel with and cook for the youth group. Valeria worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block for many years until her retirement.  

In addition to her beloved husband and her parents, Valeria was preceded in death by two sisters; a brother; and a son-in-law.

Valeria is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Lever, of Columbia; grandsons Russell Rich (Mandy), of Sumter, Marion Rich (Janet), of Pomaria, and Patrick Rich (Beth), of Brevard, NC; great-grandsons Gavin Rich (Savanna Smith), Rustin Rich, and Dema Clark (Megan Lane); great-granddaughters Elizabeth Rich, Victoria Rich, Katherine Rich, and Maddy Grace Rich; a great-great-granddaughter, Willow Clark; a special niece, Joretta Ballew; a special nephew, Kim Turbeville; and a number of great-nieces and -nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at a later date.
