Trudy M Hess

Trudy M Hess, 75, of Charleston South Carolina, loving wife to Donald Hess of 56 years, entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2020.

Trudy was born on November 06, 1944, in Charlotte North Carolina, a daughter of the late George Elmer McAteer and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor.

Trudy was a woman of strong faith, loved her family and friends and was blessed with a giving heart.  She found peace and happiness through her creative talents and enjoyed drawing, painting and quilting.  Some of her fondest memories were enjoying Spoleto with Aunt Marie, Aunt Margaret, and BJ. She was a devout Christian and was at one time a Sunday School teacher and was also very active in the Baptist Women’s Mission Group. She was a long time devoted employee of Live Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Besides her husband, left to cherish her memories is her only child Brian Darrell Hess and two brothers, George Harvey McAteer of Eutawville, SC and Kenneth Dean McAteer from Clearwater FL.  She is also survived by her two grandchildren Graycen and Dylan Hess who she was so proud of and loved immensely.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to her family and to all of her dear friends who showed her such compassion and unwavering friendships. She will be missed by so many.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March  4, 2020, at 11:30 AM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation West Ashley with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:30 PM and burial will follow the service at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Trudy`s memory may be sent to Interfaith Crisis Center or Habitat For Humanity.
