Troy Glen Griffith, 79, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on May 2, 2019. He was born on April 15, 1940 in Alice, Texas, son of Ray Griffith and Flossie Stevens Griffith.
Troy served in the United States Air Force and worked at the Naval Weapon Station. He also worked at the Lowe’s in North Charleston, SC after serving in the military. He retired from civil service and enjoyed spending time tinkering with electronics. He also enjoyed photography, playing in a band, and serving as an ordained deacon prior to attending Midway Baptist Church. He loved time spent with his family, in his church, being a helping hand, and had an overall love for life.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe Griffith, Edward Griffith, and Jerry Griffith; as well as nephew, Charles Griffith.
He is survived by his wife, Erniss Dean Griffith; children, Tammy Brewer (Wesley) and Glen Griffith; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ruth Brewer; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Midway Baptist Church, 506 St James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445. A celebration of life will begin at 12:00pm in the same location. Interment will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 2839 S Live Oak Dr., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Baptist Church and to Camp Rise Above, a nonprofit organization specializing in helping children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and challenges; where his granddaughter Ruth has attended for several years.
