Tina Iamundo Myatt Melfi, 96, of Charleston and wife of the late James R. Myatt and the late Leonard T. Melfi, passed away, Wednesday, December 23, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Ms. Melfi was born November 17, 1919, in Charleston, SC to the late Agostina Iamundo and Rosina DePaula Iamundo. She was retired from Kerrison Department Store in Charleston. Ms. Melfi was a member of the American Legion Post 147, VFW Post 145, Charleston Riffle Club, Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star, Shriners Ladies Auxillary, and past president of the Fleet Reserve Post 50. She was also a member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church on Folly Beach. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and being with family. Her friends and family will remember her as a lively and passionate lady who loved everyone. Ms. Melfi is survived by 4 daughters; Susie Schwertfeger of James Island, Frances M. Reymann of Charleston, Judy M. Townsend of Longview, TX and Kathy M. Davis of Gaffney, SC: 4 sons; James R. Myatt (Barbara) of Hermitage, TN, John H. Myatt (Kathy), David A. Myatt and Timothy W. Myatt all of Charleston: 1 sister, Clementa Florio, age 102, of Charleston, SC: 1 step-daughter, Cathy M. Curtis of Sullivans Island and 1 step-son, Harvey Melfi (Nancy) of Florida: 13 grandchildren, Ronald S. Turner (Kristy), Tina Z. Murray, PennyAnn Kimbrell (Scott), Eric Schwertfeger (Edna Ann), Terri S. Liger (Marshall), Angie M. Davis (Scott), Julie M. Daley (John), James R Myatt (Emily), Regina M. Felts, Lisa G. Smith (Jerry), Rachel M. Funk (Michael), Justin Myatt (Corrine), Edward H. Myatt, 24 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren and her very best friend, Betty Kimbrell of Charleston, SC. Ms. Melfi was predeceased by one son, Harry C. Myatt; one step daughter, Sally M. Richardson and one step-son, Leonard T. Melfi, Jr; two sisters, Leona I. Meeks and Tillie I. Hubbard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5pm – 7pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 2501 Bees Ferry Rd, Charleston, SC 29414. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
