Thomas August Wehse passed away at home on October, 11, 2023. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin on
June 22, 1944 to August Maximillian Wehse and Virginia (Kornely) Wehse.
Tom enjoyed a carefree childhood in Racine and Milwaukee, raised by his mother and grandparents
after his father’s passing. He was a member of the national championship Kilties Drum & Bugle Corp, a
group with which Tom traveled throughout the United States and Europe. Tom was a graduate of
Marquette University with a B.A. in English.
Tom had a successful marketing career including nearly two decades with Penske Racing Public Relations
and Marketing. Tom moved to Conifer, CO in 1992 where he started his own company, Summit Sales &
Marketing. It was in Denver that Tom met his wife, Linda. Tom and Linda relocated to Mt. Pleasant, SC in
2010 where they made many new friends and enjoyed the lowcountry’s restaurants. Tom and Linda
loved dining at the bar in a restaurant because they believed the most interesting people could be found
there.
Tom loved Formula 1, NASCAR and Indy racing. He loved to restore cars and could fix almost anything
around the house. He also loved boating and fishing. He loved traveling with Linda and meeting new
friends all over the world. Tom leaves behind an array of friends who were all touched by his humor,
captivating personality, and long-winded jokes. He will be missed beyond measure.
Tom is survived by his wife of 19 years, Linda Wehse. He is also survived by a sister, Kristine Wehse,
daughters, Cynthia Jarvis of Wautoma, WI and Rebecca Barski of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, and step-
children Jeff (Shannon) Moorhead and Tracey Moorhead (Mark Rudio). Tom was preceded in death by
his parents, his sister Karen Wehse Miller, and his brother David George Wehse.
