Thomas Francis McBride, 83, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, passed away on February 14, 2019.

He was born on October 22, 1935 in Tinicum, Pennsylvania, son of the late Margaret Shuhay McBride and the late Thomas McBride.

Tom grew up in Philadelphia, and was a passionate sports fan. He particularly loved the Eagles and Notre Dame football. He attended Kings College on a basketball scholarship and joined the Marine Corp after graduation. Tom was always proud to be a Marine. He loved golf, which he played poorly, and cards which he was exceptional at. Tom was a strong person of faith and attended Stella Maris church on a weekly basis. He had a distinguished career as a manufacturing executive and retired as the CFO of Ingersoll Rand. Tom married the love of his life, Marie. They retired to wild dunes and were active members of the golf, social and religious community. They were happily married for 58 years and he missed her dearly since she passed on January 7, 2017. Tom and Marie had 3 daughters, a son, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Tom was a great provider and protector for his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church located at 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stella Maris Catholic Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464, 843-884-3833.
