Thomas James Foster

Thomas James Foster, 67, of Goose Creek, passed away August 1, 2016. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Rakowska Foster and husband to Carlene Patricia Foster. After graduating high school, Tom joined the United States Air Force. He worked for over thirty five years with Avaya Communications in New Jersey, retiring in 2005 as a project manager. Mr. Foster was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek. Tom’s most enjoyable time was being with his family, especially the time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of forty three years, Carlene Patricia Foster; son, Thomas D. Foster of Cross; daughter, Michelle Jeansonne and husband Glen, Jr. of Summerville; grandchildren, Ashley Foster, Elise Foster, Josey Foster, Thomas J. Foster, Glen Jeansonne, III, Madison Foster and Colton Jeansonne; sister, Regina Foster of Goose Creek; brother, James Foster of New Jersey. Mr. Foster was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Geraldine Apadula. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. A prayer service will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at 10: 00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek. Graveside committal service will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors.
