Theresa Plott

Theresa Knoll Plott, 84, of Gaston, SC, passed away on May 23, 2018.
Born in the family home, Furstenfeldbruck, Bavaria, in August of 1933; she was the fourth child of Simon & Maria Knoll. As a youngster, she and her family survived the ravages of WW II and she often told stories of running to the cemeteries and forests, when allied bombers flew overhead. She overcame many adversities in life, such as battling polio as a child and learning to walk again.
After immigrating to the United States in the 1950's, she sought and was awarded her citizenship. In school, her talent led her to the skill she became most known and respected for, being a Master Seamstress.
She settled in Buffalo, New York and worked for L.L. Berger, a high end clothier. During her many years of hard work, she also traveled the world and came to appreciate it's many wonders. Moving to Charleston, South Carolina in 1976, she worked at Kerrisons Department Store and made many friends. During her working years, her customers ranged from Singer Greg Allman, to sewing the uniforms of the Citadel Cheerleaders women's squad 1977-78.
She married John Plott, the love of her life, and they eventually retired to Gaston, South Carolina. She is survived by her sister Mrs. Tina Driver of North Charleston, SC; Nephew, Tony Youmans (Stephany), their children Abigail and Sawyer of Charleston, SC; Niece, Tina Warhoover, (Jim) and their children Jamie and Julie of O'Fallon, Il. As well as extended family, in Missouri and Munich, Germany.
