Teofila 'Phil' J. Mikolajcik (Wasniewski)

Teofila “Phil” Julia Mikolajcik, 94, of Norwich, CT entered into eternal rest with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was born on Wednesday, March 2, 1921 in Colchester, CT to the late Mrs. Julia Kucinski and the late Mr. Frank Wasniewski. Phil was a graduate of Bacon Academy Colchester, CT, Class of 1938 and attended Norwich Business School. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of the altar guild and was a Eucharistic Minister. Phil enjoyed gardening, knitting and taking care of her family. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and loving friend. She is survived by her Daughter, Dorothy A. Mikolajcik, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Daughter-in-law, Carmen Mikolajcik (Gary) Miles, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Julia Catherine (Dr. Anthony) Vanderpool, Christina Marie (Philip) Mikolajcik-Edles and John Paul (Anna) Mikolajcik; nine great grandchildren; Giuliana, Victoria, Alexandria, Sophia, Angelina, Lucaya, Francesa, Simcha and Ziva; two great great grandchildren, Gracelia and Eliana; brother, Ira (Nan) Wasniewski; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, George Wasniewski and John Wasniewski; seven sisters, Irene Wasniewski, Fanny Fidrych, Stella Gostkiewicz, Clara Dubiel , Cecilia Schaffhauser, Helene Swider, and Florence Bystrowski; her loving husband of 57 years, Roy J. Mikolajcik; and one son, Brig. Gen. (USAF ret.) Thomas R. Mikolajcik. The Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. Rosary to be recited at 1:30 PM at the church. Short reception to follow at the church. Burial to be held on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St Mary's & St Joseph's Cemetery, 815 Boswell Ave, Taftville, CT 06380. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Mary's Endowment Fund, 70 Central Avenue, Norwich, Ct. 06360.
