Tamara Darlene Rush

Tamara Darlene Rush, 83, of Hanahan, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Born on January 14, 1942, in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Sally Lofton and late St. Julien Barnwell.

Tamara was a loving, compassionate, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Her passion was making others happy. She enjoyed sewing, coloring, making jewelry and cooking. She loved seeing the smiles on family and friends' faces when she gave them something she had made.

We would like to say thank you to the wonderful care she received from Gentiva Hospice. A special thank you to Noe Solis. He showed so much love, compassion and care for her. He always put a smile on her face.

Tamara is preceded in death by her parents, St. Julien Barnwell, Jr. and Sally Lofton; daughter, Tamara Rush; two sisters, Sheron Caddell and Dianne Moffett; and two grandsons, Drew Bowden, III and Bobby Bowden.

Tamara is survived by her children: Fay Ann Bowden, of St. George, SC; Linda Johnson (Ron), of Welaka, Florida; Earl Rush (Carol), of Manning, SC; Tina Green (Mike), of Hanahan, SC; DJ Rush (Alicia), of Summerville, SC; and grandchildren: Crystal Driggers, Melissa Finch, Matt Poynter, Jonathan Bowden, Justin Poynter, Ryan Green, Courtney Willis, and Zachary Rush.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek.

The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
