Sylvia Marie McClammy Chennault

Sylvia Marie Chennault, 84, of Hanahan, SC, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Sylvia was born on December 22, 1936 in Wilmington. NC. She was the daughter of the late Davis Elwood McClammy and Peachie Marie Pollard.

Sylvia loved her family dearly, as well as her church family. She was very strong in her faith. She enjoyed being around her family, grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her friends. She was a member of Christ Sanctified Holy Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Larry McClammy; her sister, Mary McClammy Rabel; and niece, Sheila McClammy Hinson.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Deidre House (Luis) of Bonneau, SC; her stepson, Michael Cupp of Pensacola, FL; her grandchildren: Chris Benton (Tiffany) of St. George, SC and Ashley Longsine (Rob) of Hanahan, SC; her step-grandchildren: Matthew House (Samantha) of Moncks Corner, SC; Brandon House (Allie) of Bonneau, SC and Hunter House of Moncks Corner, SC; eight great-grandchildren: Gracelynn and Emery Benton, Nash and Gage Hanneman, Ryverlynn House, Forrest and Evan House, and Ryland Lopez.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. The burial will be held in a private service at a later date.

In addition to flowers, memorial contributions in Sylvia’s memory may be sent to Christ Sanctified Holy Church in Hanahan, SC.
