Suzzette Gayle Nowak, 76 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
Born on January 14, 1946, in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of (the late) Henrietta Greenhill (Larson) and Henry Greenhill.
Suzette graduated from Rivers and Murray Vocational School in 1964 and accepted a job as a bookkeeper after graduation. She later became a homemaker upon the arrival of her daughter and son. Suzzette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She loved spending time with family and friends and planning parties even without occasion to bring family and friends together. She was an excellent dancer and had mastered the “Carolina Shag.” Her infectious smile and warm, caring heart made everyone feel at home and like they were her own family.
Suzzette is preceded in death by Henry Greenhill (Father), Henrietta Greenhill (Mother), Chester Nowak Jr. (Husband), and Walter Nowak (Son).
Suzzette is survived by Celeste N. Boudolf (Daughter). Suzzette is also survived by Joseph Boudolf (Grandson) Ashlyn Boudolf (Granddaughter); Donna Nowak (Daughter in Law); Carolyn Hardy (Sister-in-Law) and Marcella Schachte (Sister-in-Law). Suzzette is also survived by many cousins and friends that she held dear to her heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
Due to weather concerns burial will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 12:30pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Suzzette’s name may be made to Roper Hospice Cottage at 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 or the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
