Susan Richardson Hihn, 78, of Goose Creek, wife to Michael Edward Hihn of 50 years, entered into eternal rest on January 13, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Born on October 17, 1942 in Conway, SC, she was raised a member of the United Methodist Church. Susan was a daughter of the late Wilbur Richardson and Madge Olita Langston, whose memories she held dear.
Susan loved her husband and the life they shared. She also loved her children and grandchildren and being a mother. She enjoyed gardening, eating at Music Mans BBQ, and taking her great grandson to the park on every single sunny day. She made a hobby of clothing her grandbabies in Gymboree and Justice clothing like they were her baby dolls. But most of all she took pride and determination in bringing her family together as often as she could, including every holiday and birthday. She was always up for a game of gin rummy. Shuffling the deck and winning, (even if she did had an ace up her sleeve), she alone was truly the Queen of Hearts.
Besides her husband, Susan is survived by her daughter Kim Smart (Henry) of North Charleston, her daughter Amy Armstrong (Eric) of Moncks Corner, her beloved granddaughters Brianna Komrek (Matthew) of Virginia, Ashlynne Hihn (who she also lovingly mothered), Katie Armstrong, Anna Armstrong, and her first great grandchild Ashton Hihn. She is also survived by her sister, JoDean Baulknight (Charlie) of Columbia.
The family will receive friends and relatives at her memorial service on Tuesday, January 19th at 2:00 pm. The service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home at 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
