There will be a visitation at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, who loved him dearly, Betty L. Price Platt; sons, Patrick Regalis (Secret) and Heath Regalis (Kelly); granddaughters, Bri Regalis, Brenna Regalis Peters (Caillin) and Bella Regalis (David); grandsons, Jacob Regalis and Keegan Regalis; great-granddaughters, Ella and Aeri Peters; his great-grandson, Greyson Regalis; brothers, James M. Platt Jr. and Joel Platt (Valerie); sister, Laurie Smith (Tim); along with his brother in law, J. Ron Price (Robin). There are many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special aunt, Helen Johnson.
Steve grew up in the Eau Claire community and graduated from Eau Claire High School. He never met a stranger. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will always remember his devotion, uplifting personality and curiosity. Fishing and taking his dogs to swim in the river or walk in the woods were his favorite past times. Steve was an exceptional welder and retired from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and worked out of Local 45 in Richmond, Virginia. He was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce, SC.
The family would like to thank all those who helped with Steve’s care, neighbors who prayed for us and lovingly provided food weekly, visits from friends, family, cards, calls and especially the prayers. A special thank you to Dr. Christie Griffin, DVM and the staff of Griffin Animal Hospital. Over the years during Steve’s illnesses, they have faithfully supported us like family and treated our pets like they were their own.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of Dr. Christie Griffin, DVM, of Griffin Animal hospital, 1510 Barnwell St., Columbia, SC, 29201 for charitable care of animals. (Please make donations payable to Griffin Animal Hospital).
