Steve Allen Crosby born January 23, 1956, went home on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was born in Gastonia, North Carolina to his late father, Charles Patrick Crosby and his mother Nancy Glenn Crosby. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and moved to Charleston where he met his bride of 41 years, Gail (Garris) Crosby. He graduated from the College of Charleston and made Mount Pleasant their home. Most fathers only have the privilege of raising one daddy’s little girl; but Steve had the honor of raising two amazing daughters, Erica and Hanna. His daughters were his pride and joy; and they couldn’t have been luckier to have a father so devoted to their lives.
For over 30 years, Steve was owner and founder of Service Industrial Supply Company, until he retired in 2009. An avid sportsman, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. One of his most enjoyable pastimes was a trip to the jetties to hook a few sheepshead and spending time at Goldbug Island with his boykin spaniel Moe and their friends.
Steve’s generosity was evident with his unselfish donation of time and resources not only to friends but to the numerous organizations he supported. His passion was working with his hands which was how he was able to express how much he cared. Steve’s cornerstone was his tremendous Faith in Jesus Christ which gave him great strength, peace and security. Steve was a long time active member of the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife Gail; daughters, Erica and Hanna; siblings Joyce and Pat; mother, Nancy Glenn Crosby; his faithful sidekick “Moe”; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at
