Stephen Alan Freudenheim
Stephen Freudenheim, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Charleston, SC. Born on May 9, 1944, in Monticello, NY, Stephen was the cherished son of the late Lenore Salomon Freudenheim and Jay Freudenheim. He resided in Katonah, NY, for many years before moving to Charleston, SC, to be with family. Known by friends as "Freudy," his grandsons endearingly called him "Fivvey."
A hard-working and dedicated individual, Stephen was self- employed in the jewelry industry.
Although fly fishing was his favorite activity and passion, Stephen excelled in tennis, squash, and baseball, often sharing his enthusiasm for these sports with friends of all ages. He delighted in reciting poems to his dear family and friends as well, creating moments of connection, reflection, and joy.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Kari Freudenheim, of Charleston, SC, his son David Freudenheim (Stephanie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, sisters Lynn Cavo of Farmington, CT, and Jill Lieberman (Barry) of Pawleys Island, SC, and grandsons, Luke and Jake Freudenheim. His grandsons held a special place in his heart, sharing countless memories and moments that will be cherished forever.
Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Danielle Freudenheim, whose memory he carried with him always.
In accordance with his family's wishes, a private funeral service will be held to honor Stephen's memory.
