Mr Shui Ting Tsoi, age 77, loving father of two and adoring husband to Yee Tsoi, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, October 8, 2022.
Born on July 4, 1945, in Tin Fu Tsai, Hong Kong, Shui was born to Lin Wu Tsoi (Mother) and Tak Tsoi (Father). Shui grew up in Hong Kong with a large family, including three sisters, four brothers, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. As a teenager, he joined the British Navy in 1961 as a member of the galley, where he started in the utility division, and moved up to the crew cook team. He traveled the world visiting various countries enjoying the culture, the people and most of all the cuisine.
After the military, he worked at a local bank in Hong Kong where he started using the nickname, Scott. He met his future wife Yee in 1969, and their friendship blossomed into the beautiful, forty-eight-year relationship they shared together. They were married in 1975, and proceeded to build their family, starting with Huen Tsoi (Son) and Olman Tsoi Barber (Daughter) before immigrating to America in 1981.
Shui was a happy, giving, selfless man who loved to laugh and spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling to Hong Kong often, and watching his grandchildren grow.
Shui is survived by Yee Tsoi (Wife), Huen Tsoi (Son) and Jazmine Tsoi (Daughter-In-Law) of Valdosta, GA, Olman Barber (Daughter) and Craig Barber (Son-In-Law) of Milton, GA, and Grandchildren Arianna Tsoi, Talia Tsoi, Ethan Barber and Chase Barber.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, 15th of October 2022, starting at 4:00 PM, with the service to follow from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 869 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
