It is with a heavy heart that the Gnodle family announce the death of Shirley Gnodle.

Shirley Lee Speakman Gnodle, age 77, peacefully passed away in her home on May 26, 2022.  

She was born in Sabina, Ohio on March 12, 1945, to Betty I. Anders Speakman and James E. Speakman.  Shirley worked various jobs throughout her life including roofing, house painting, window cleaning, restaurant work and finally working as a nanny/house cleaner before settling into retirement in 2006.

Shirley enjoyed playing cards with family members, travel, and working in her yard.  She faithfully followed Ohio State University "Buckeye" football, NASCAR, and the Carolina Panthers.   

Shirley is survived by her husband of 36 years, John Gnodle of Moncks Corner, SC; two brothers, Garry (Lauri) Spradlin of Stow, Ohio and Larry Spradlin of Kissimmee-St. Cloud, Florida; her sister, Dorena (Dan) Dever of Troy, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Whalen of Pleasant Hill, Ohio and Teresa (Jeff) Greive of North Fort Myers, Florida; two grandchildren, Michael Pennington of Columbus, Ohio and Samantha Merritt of Columbus, Ohio and two great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her two daughters, Mandolin I. Merritt Howard and Michelle M. Merritt and granddaughter, Amanda Merritt. 

Services for Shirley are being held privately within the family.
