Sherry L. Harris

Sherry Lee Harris, 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Sherry was born on April 20, 1944, in Walterboro, SC, the daughter of the late Emma Jean (Lee) McNeill and Edward Braun McNeill, Jr.

Sherry had a long career as a civil servant of the Department of the Navy. She won several service awards, notably the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for her distinctive service and accomplishments in personnel support activity detachment. Very artistic in nature, she was an avid painter and enjoyed various crafting projects, including sewing and designing unique garments for loved ones and house decor such as holiday wreaths and ornaments. Her favorite pastimes were spending time on the beach collecting shells and showing off the beautiful downtown of Charleston to her family and friends.

Sherry is survived by a daughter, Pamela (Harris) Witt, Son John Harris, and stepson, Daniel Hancock/Rosanne; Grandchildren, Cassie Casey, Husband Sean, Lindsay Carrier Husband Brett; Sisters, Julia McNeill and Peggy Spyker; Brother James McNeill; Nieces and Nephews, Stewart Spyker, Richard Spyker, Kimberly Ahrens Husband Brad, Mike McNeill and Wife Rene, Mark McNeill and Wife Gigi; Cousins Gail Bivens Smith, Abby Smith, Ira Lynn Bivens Rivers and Mattie Rivers.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place at a later date.
