Sean Patrick Blacklocke PhD

BLACKLOCKE, Dr. Sean Patrick Blacklocke, age 49, died in Dublin, Ireland on date Thursday, December 22, 2016. Born on June 10, 1967 in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late Franklin Hugh Blacklocke and Theresa McMahon Blacklocke of Charleston. For most of his professional life, Sean worked as an independent consulting water resources scientist and economist, assisting an international portfolio of clients in their efforts to maximize the value of water resources in their communities. Sean graduated from Bishop England High School in 1985, the College of Charleston in 1990, and he also held graduate degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina and Clemson University and a PhD from University College Dublin in Ireland. When he wasn’t working and learning, Sean loved being out in the sun on the water with his dogs and girlfriend. Sean is survived by his mother Theresa Blacklocke; brother Frank Blacklocke and nephew Josh Blacklocke of Charlotte, NC; godson Finn Philips of Dublin, Ireland; girlfriend Aoife Quinn of Dublin, Ireland; dogs Blackie and Sue; and his many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian burial to be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 888 King Street, Charleston, SC 29412 on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at a 9:00 AM. Reception to follow.
