Sara Huggins Walizer Dalton, 93 of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on August 12, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on August 15, 1922 in Hemmingway, SC to the late WM Jackson Huggins and Mary Francis Cox Huggins. Sara was the widow of Clair M. Walizer and James J. Dalton. Sara was the youngest of 10 children and has joined her deceased brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son Clair M. Walizer Jr (Carol) and daughters, Pamela W. Bingham (Tarleton) and Mary D. Smith (Kenny-deceased). She has six grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She graduated from Hemmingway High School where she loved to play basketball. Sara was a long time member of Bethany United Methodist Church and was involved with the MYF Fellowship program. She fought hard for everything she believed in for her community. She enjoyed square dancing, bridge playing, tennis, volunteering at nursing homes, and was involved with the Christian Family Y Tea Room and Dogwood Garden Club. The family will receive friends for a drop in at 428 Martello Drive, James Island from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1853 Maybank Highway, James Island. Burial will be in Hemmingway, SC. on Thursday, August 18, 2016. A very special thanks to Mary Muckenfuss for all the help and love she gave to Mama.
