Sandra Kay Stevenson

Sandi Stevenson went to heaven the morning of March 3, 2018 at her home in Johns Island, SC. She was born in St. Louis, MO on April 26, 1945. She is survived by her loving husband Jeff of 47 years, son Scott (Theresa) and granddaughters Chloe, Olivia & Caleigh and grandson Camren. She is also survived by her very close, loving cousins Dick Proctor, Janice Boyanchek, Jerry Adlersfluegel & Diane Arnold. She was greeted in heaven by her parents Paul & Viola Presley and brother Barry.
Sandi was the kind of person that left an everlasting mark on all those who she touched. She carried herself with such graciousness, a contagious laugh, a thirst for adventure, a plethora of stories, and an endless amount of love. The loss of this wife, this mother, this grandmother, this friend, this child of God, this writer, this hero, this adventurer, this avid card player, and this charismatic women is a loss that has created an empty hole in all of our hearts. But Sandi was not the kind of woman who would want those who she loved, to sit around and sulk for her. She would want us to smile, to remember, to share stories, and to live. One of the greatest marks Sandi left on the world, was how she lived her incredible life on earth of 72 years. Sandi and her granddaughters shared a love for the city of Paris. A popular and timeless saying from the French culture is “Carpe Diem”; seize the day. She lived her life with this same attitude, enduring every day with a remarkable sense of passion and love. Through all of life's moments; the difficult ones, the joyous ones, and all others, Sandi embraced the moment, cloaked in a shield of positivity, love, adventure and spunk. There simply was never a dull moment with her. One of her toughest moments was in January of 2016, when her life, for the first time was almost stolen by cancer. Still, Sandi had faith. From here stemmed something greater, a love for Jesus Christ. From the two years after this moment, she found Jesus in her heart and was saved. This is something that we all can rest on, knowing that she is in Heaven with our Lord, and we will see her again. Sandi, though not physically here on Earth anymore, will always be with us. She will live on in our memories, in our laughter, and in our constant, joyous remembrance of the woman who will always be in all of our hearts. As said in her favorite book, To Kill a Mockingbird, “Things are always better in the morning”. Every morning, though we will forever miss the lively, spunky woman that was Sandi Stevenson, we must celebrate her life, and seize each and every day for the woman who touched every single one of our hearts.

Celebratory services will be in her hometown of 37 years - Libertyville, IL. They will be from 1-4 pm (Service from 2-3 pm) at Heritage Church - Libertyville http://www. heritagechurch.cc/libertyville on Saturday, April 14th. Friends/family are invited to meet up and celebrate Sandi's life afterwards at a TBD establishment in Downtown Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed in Sandi's name to Hyatt's Angels - a charity very dear to her heart; as well as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
