Salvador Olfindo Oboza was born on April 14, 1942 in Viga, Catanduanes, Philippines. He was the eldest son of Antonia and Leon Oboza.
He will always be fondly remembered as "Buddy" to friends, family, and co-workers; so fitting of his cheerful, laid-back, and welcoming personality. Salvador married Felisa Norma Gabuyo on March 23, 1968 in Pasig, Philippines and they had one son, Dennis. After a memorable career as a merchant marine that took him all over the world, Salvador and his family moved to North Charleston, South Carolina in 1985. He then began a career as a marble fabricator for Murray Tile Company. His job turned into a hobby, as he crafted many beautiful pieces out of marble and granite for his home and for family and friends. Salvador was a deeply loved and very loving family man, a nature lover who was always outside and gardening with his wife, and a hard worker and someone you could always rely on.
Salvador is predeceased by his wife, Felisa Norma, his parents, one sister Ester, and one brother Felicito.
He is survived by his son Dennis (Leah); two grandchildren, Jehnel (Joshua) and Jasmine; two great-grandchildren, Jude Palmer and Zara Charlotte, whom he loved so much and he would always light up when he saw them. Also surviving him are two sisters, Sinay and Fe; in-laws Ernesto (Carmen), Conrado (Teresita), Gaudencio Jr. (Teresa), and Maria Elena (Nelson) and Nilda; and many nieces and nephews.
The visitation and funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 10am to 12pm. Cremation will be private.
