Ruth Elizabeth "Patsy" Dowell

Ruth Elizabeth "Patsy" Dowell, passed away on September 11, 2024, on John's Island, South Carolina, at the age of 85. 

Born on September 24, 1938, in Asheville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Cleta Childers (Jennings).

Patsy had beautiful blue eyes, a warm, winning smile, and a heart full of love. Her love for friends and family was unmatched, and her dedication to them and her church was admirable.  She was always there when needed and not afraid to tackle any task.  Her work for the church started at an early age and she devoted her life and musical talents for decades.  Her love for children and teaching was infectious.  Her eyes would "light up" when children were near.  She touched the lives of many.  She will be sorely missed by those left behind, but we are joyous knowing that she is walking with Ronnie and seeing her Savior in her beautiful new home.

In addition to her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Dowell. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald Dowell, daughter, Starr Acheson, grandchildren, Joe, Jake, Daniel, and Amber Acheson, great grandsons, Asher Greenfield and Charley Acheson, and her sister, Peggy Dowell.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
