Roslyn "Lyn" Barmore Vogel

Roslyn (Lyn) Barmore Vogel, 72, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023. 

Born on November 2, 1950, in Neptune, NJ, Roslyn was a daughter of Jay T. Barmore and the late Franklyn Emerson Barmore. 

Lyn grew up the daughter of a fishing family in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, and found a deep connection with the ocean and inlets surrounding the area at a young age. She married her high school sweetheart, made a perfect life with him, and they lovingly raised two children together. Lyn joined the family business at the famous Shrimp Box Restaurant, established by her paternal grandmother, Edith Barmore, and worked there with her husband until retirement. After retiring, she relocated to Mount Pleasant with her husband to be closer to their grandchildren. She enjoyed many things in life. Some were sewing and gardening, but none were more dear to her than traveling with her family and spending time with her grandsons. She was a beloved wife and a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. Lyn lived a life full of love and joy, surrounded by her family.

Roslyn is preceded in death by her father, Franklyn Barmore, and her sister, Diane “Livia” Heckendorn.

Roslyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Edward Vogel; her son, Edward Vogel, Jr. (Jay); her daughter, Jennie, and husband, Eric Garris, and their sons Emerson, Jacob, Tymer and Cooper Garris and her loving mother, Jay T. Barmore, all of Mount Pleasant.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Dates and times will be updated on the website when available.
