Robert (Jeff) Jefferson Walker IV, 80, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday,

November 2, 2023. Born on August 3, 1943 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Lucille Tumlin

(Benson) and Robert J. Walker. He graduated from East Tennessee State University where he was a

member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was a 1967 graduate of Infantry Officer Candidacy School

and proudly served our country in Vietnam as an Intelligence Research Officer.

Jeff was an avid traveler and would go anywhere in the world with his wife, Kathy. That included a year

living in Turkey and trips to Vietnam, Laos, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Jordan, Lebanon, South Africa,

Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan – just to mention a few. He

was a member of the Scottish Society and loved nothing better than dressing up in his kilt and attending

the Scottish Games. He loved building elaborate model ships and was accepted as a member of Mensa.

Jeff is survived by his wife Kathryn Magruder, his son Robert (Robb) Walker V (Wendy) of Mount

Pleasant SC, his daughter Jennifer Walker of Atlanta GA, his son Hunter Walker (Marina) of Greer SC,

and his daughter Jo deJournette of Thurmond, NC. He is also survived by his stepchildren Katie Habib

(Chapel Hill, NC) and Adam Habib (Oakland, CA), 5 grandchildren, and 4 step-grandchildren. Jeff was

predeceased by his sister, Linda Wooten of Manteo NC, and his daughter Brittany Walker.

Special thanks and appreciation go to Warren Marcus Nelson, his caregiver for many years.

A service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on December 2 at 3pm (67 Anson St., Charleston

SC).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Isle of

Palms Exchange Club Americanism Committee for Veterans (IOPCC, PO Box 131, Isle of Palms SC 29451).
