Robert W Hughes

Robert W Hughes, 80, of Mount Pleasant, SC died, Thursday, November 23, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Harold and Helen Hughes. Bob always liked to make people laugh, it was who he was and he made no excuses for that. He worked at Westinghouse as an Inspector for Nuclear Plants and was also a volunteer fireman in Penn Hills, PA for 30 years. He enjoyed several styles of music and collected albums ranging from Frank Sinatra to Motown. Bob loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR, and the occasional “dumpster dive”, to recover treasures. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret “Margie” Hughes of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Linda (Eric) Willson of West Ashley; son, David Hughes; nephew, Jeff Easton of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Elizabeth Kenny of Hilton Head; and grandchildren, Julia, Rachel, Christopher, Kayla, and Miles. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Robert David Hughes; brother, Russell Ludwig; and sister Barbara Ray. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 12:00 PM, at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, MT PLEASANT CHAPEL. A light reception will immediately follow at the funeral home.
