Robert "Bob" Santos, 78, of Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Born on June 1, 1945, in Providence, RI, Robert was a son of the late Clotilda Almeada Santos and the late Victor Santos.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane Zito Santos; son, Robert Santos; immediate family: Elizabeth Zito, Paul Crehan, Sean Crehan, Cristina Guidon (Matthew); and nieces and nephews. Bob will be remembered for all the love and joy he shared with his family of friends. He truly loved each of them - if you knew him, you felt it.
A proud Marine, Vietnam veteran, Bob was well-known and respected in the international shipping industry. An avid golfer, moving to South Carolina, he realized his dream of almost weekly playtime.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29407. The burial will be follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Charleston, South Carolina (James Island).
