Robert Roe Gore

Robert Roe Gore, 80, of Loris, SC entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He was born on Wednesday, December 13, 1933 in Loris, SC to the late Annabelle Carter Gore and the late John Burnis Gore. Robert was a graduate of Loris High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired patrolman from the S.C. Highway Patrol after 23 years. Robert was very active in the SC Baptist Association, a Gideon, ordained deacon and active member of Sullivan's Island Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Louise Thomas Gore, his daughter, Robin Gore Moses, Mount Pleasant, (Gary 'Kelly'), granddaughter, Rachel Renee Jones, North Charleston, (Chris), and great-grandson, Austin Robert Jones. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 5 PM to 7PM, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1520 Rifle Range Road. Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Monday, March 10, 2014 at Sullivan's Island Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Sullivan's Island Baptist Church, 1753 Central Avenue, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482.
