Robert George Murray

Robert George Murray, 73 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

Born on November 3, 1949 in New Bedford, MA he was a son of (the late) Gladys Murray (Winterbottom) and Norman Murray.

Robert was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather; taking great joy in spending time with his family; especially his Grandsons. He spent his career working for the Federal Government, and in his retirement enjoyed time golfing, walking on the beach, checking out the fine dining in Charleston, and hanging out in Murrells Inlet. He will be greatly missed.

Robert is preceded in death by Gladys Murray (Mother), Norman Murray (Father).

Robert is survived by Barbara Murray (Wife), Allison DiRusso (Daughter), Andrew DiRusso (Son-in-law), Jack DiRusso and Wyatt Bergeson (Grandsons); as well as David Murray (Brother), Sarah Murray (Niece), and Brendan Murray (Nephew).  

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation – West Ashley, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414, 843-722-8371.
