Robert Martin "Marty" Kersey, Jr.

Robert “Marty” Martin Kersey Jr., 64, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. 

Born on October 17, 1959, in Fort Benning, Georgia, Marty was the son of the late Priscilla McSwain Kersey and Robert Kersey. 

Marty had many interesting hobbies as he simply loved learning. Some examples include studying biblical literature, keeping bees, collecting rocks and minerals, and even taking survival classes. He found joy in the beauty in the world around him, and even more in sharing that with others…  Marty, “ever the teacher.”  He was an avid member of the Northbridge Baptist Church Community. 

Marty is preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla Kersey.

Marty is survived by his stepdaughter, CJ Anderson (Carter Inabinett); his father, Robert Kersey (Betty); his sister Becky Peraza (Freddy); and nephews, Antonio and Fritz Peraza. 

A Celebration of Life Ceremony for Marty will be held at Northbridge Baptist Church, Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 12:30pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charleston Area Beekeepers Association (Donation — CABA (charlestonbees.org)
