Robert Thomas "Robbie" Johnson

Robert Thomas “Robbie” Johnson, 35 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024.

Born on August 10, 1989, Robbie was the son of Debra Reavis Johnson and Thomas Rutledge Johnson.

Robbie has gone on his final adventure, trading in his kayak for a heavenly chariot and a fishing rod that never tangles.  A lover of the great outdoors, Robbie was known for tackling rapids with more bravery than grace and casting lines with optimism unmatched by any fish.

When he wasn't exploring nature's wonders, he proudly touted his love for his country, probably while trying to convince his cousins to join him on a camping trip that inevitably involved an overcooked marshmallow or two. His hiking boots may be retired, but his spirit continues to blaze trails in our hearts. Robbie leaves behind countless untold campfire stories and a legacy of laughter. Though he's embarked on a journey we can't join just yet, we're certain he's found the best campsite with the clearest starry skies. May he rest in peace with the wind at his back and the smell of pine forever in the air.

Robbie is survived by his parents, Tommy and Debi Johnson; sister, Jamie Henderson (Ryan); and numerous family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation - James Island, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412, 843-614-8494.

A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion Post #147, 968 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
