Robert H. Dawson

Mr. Robert H Dawson, age 89, of James Island, SC, and widower of Evelyn June Page Dawson, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016. Born in Chattanooga, TN, he was a son of the late Robert Y. Dawson and Nora Henry Dawson. Mr. Dawson was a WWII veteran and a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer and a CLU rated insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Co. of America. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed shooting pool and playing poker. He will be remembered as dedicated American citizen and he loved his country. Mr. Dawson is survived by 2 sons, Robert T. Dawson of Denver, CO and Keith A. Dawson of James Island, SC; 1 daughter, Lynne S. Dawson of Rock Hill, SC; 4 sisters, Geraldine Patterson, Betty Kerley, Ann Maddox and Hilda Williams. He is also survived by his beloved Barbara A. Horton and her daughter Debbie, her granddaughter Heather and grandchildren Casey and Justin. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by 1 brother, Alder Dawson. Funeral services will held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the chapel of McAlister-Smith Funeral Home on James Island. Interment will immediately follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
