On March 6, 2025, Robert Allan "Bobby" Floyd of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully at the Ralph H. Johnson Veteran's Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

Bobby was born an only child to the late Robert and Allene Floyd (Cross) on January 20, 1941, in Atlanta, GA.  He also lived in Newland, NC and Charleston, SC.

He graduated from Murphy High School in Atlanta, and soon after, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served his tour of duty at Quantico, VA. In 1960, he began his career with the John H. Harland printing company in Atlanta. He retired at the age of 55 after 35 years with them.

Bobby was an avid sports fan, but his favorite was college football, especially the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He refereed high school football and basketball for 18 years with the Georgia High School Association and enjoyed coaching soccer for 10 years for the Youth Soccer Association in Conyers, GA.

He is survived by his adoring wife Elaine, who was his high school sweetheart of 65 years; his handsome sons Robert A. "Robby" Floyd (Susan) and Rowdy Floyd (Traci); four amazing grandchildren, Bryce Floyd, Kelsie Floyd, Matson Floyd and Carmen Floyd; and his loving cousins, Steve Jackson (Barbara), Charles Cross (JoAnn), Peggy Kovacs and Buddy Hunter (Gertrude).

A graveside Military Honors Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC  29902.
