Robert Daisley, age 96, passed away on Dec. 7, 2024.
He was born on July 30, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended Columbia University. Robert served in the National Guard and also was a second Lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for many years in the retail footwear business, at top department stores including B. Altman and Kauffman's.
He is pre-deceased by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Osborn Daisley. He and Ruth lived in Merrick, NY for over twenty years, where they raised their four children, and also resided in Upper St. Clair, PA, as well as Sarasota, where they owned and operated several boutique footwear stores. After retirement, Robert became active in leading his local investment club, as well as a computer club. Robert was an active member of the Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder and in many other capacities. Robert was an active member of the community at the Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods since 2011, and served as President of the resident's council. He was a lover of jazz and enjoyed performing in theatrical revues at the Fountains.
He is survived by his children: Susanne Lyons, Janet Daisley, William Daisley and Donald Daisley, along with his five grandchildren: Megan, Katy, Tyler, Zachary, Kelsie, and Sierra, as well as several great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
